Description
William and Mary (1688-1694), Shilling, 1692, conjoined laureate and draped busts right, legend surrounds GVLIELMVS ET MARIA DEI GRATIA. Rev, crowned cruciform emblematic shields, WM monograms in angles, lion of Nassau at centre, date figures surrounding, RE over ET in REX, flawed F in FR, no stop after BR, (S.3437; Bull.865; R).
Toned, a little wear to obverse high points and weakness in strike, reverse a touch off-centre. Otherwise a pleasing very fine for a notoriously weakly struck issue, recorded as rare in ESC.
