A 1914-1919 Victory Medal and an Indian Meritorious Service Medal Pair awarded to Jemadar Sher Ali Khan 18th Lancers, 1914-1919 Victory Medal, (Jemdr. Sher Ali Khan. 18 Lcrs.); Indian Army Meritorious Service Medal, GVR, (1779 Kot-Dfdr. Sher Ali Khan. 18th K.G.O. Lcrs.), the MSM is engraved in upright block capitals as often seen to this regiment, lightly toned, edge bumps, very fine.

Jemadar Sher Ali Khan entered service on 1/6/1898, commissioned Jemadar on 2/9/1917. Pensioned on 1/1/1923. The regimental history states he was awarded a Jangi Inam (a monetary allowance) and came from the village of Mitha Tiwana. He served in France & Belgium as well as with the Egyptian Expeditionary Force.
