Victoria, 1862 International Exhibition London – Jurors’ medal, AE medal (76mm.), by L. C. Wyon, after a design by Daniel Maclise, Class VIII [Fire Engines], awarded to W. M. Browne. Britannia seated l., accompanied by figures representing Art, Science and Industry. Rev. Legend and date within oak wreath, edge impressed with recipient’s name. (BHM.2747; Eimer 1553; Allen SK-A010).

As struck with pristine bronze patina.

W. M. Browne, Superintendent of Westminster Fire Brigade, formerly Secretary of the Westminster Fire Office. The Special Jury for Fire-Engines comprised 15 men including the Earl of Caithness and the Duke of Sutherland.
