Description
The Great War Neuve Chapelle Casualty 1914 Star Trio awarded to Private William Carnegie, 2nd Battalion Black Wath (Royal Highlanders) who was Killed in Action on the 24th of March 1915 comprising, 1914 Star, (955 Pte W. Carnegie. R. Highrs.), 1914-1920 British War and Victory Medals, (955 Pte. W. Carnegie. R. Highrs.), Victory Medal lacking suspension ring and is stained to the Obverse, otherwise toned fine.
William Carnegie landed in France on the 12th of October 1914, The 2ns Battalion Attacked during the Battle Of Neuve Chapelle on the 10th and the 11th of March 1915 loosing 7 Officers and 126 Other Ranks, they moved back into the Front-Line Trenches at Neuve Chapelle on the 23rd of March and Private Carnegie was Killed the next day. He is Remembered on the Le Touret Memorial, Panels 24-26. Private Carnegie is also entitled to the August November Clasp.
