James II (1685-88), Halfcrown, 1687, Tertio, First bust facing left. Rev, nine strings to harp, crowned cruciform shields, edge reads + decvs et tvtamen anno regni tertio(ESC 753 [498]; S.3408).

Scratch in the 7 of the date and a little corrosion in this vicinity, otherwise pleasing example with cabinet toning, clear fields with an excellent provenance and old accompanying ticket. Bold fine, stronger in places.
