Description

An Officer’s India General Service Medal, 1908-35, one clasp Afghanistan N.W.R 1919 awarded to 2nd Lieutenant E.J.S.W. Tully 25th Cavalry Frontier Force, (2/Lt. E.J.S.W. Tully, 25/Cavy. F.F.) very fine.

Eric John Shand Winfald Tully landed in France on the 8th October 1915 and served as a Private with the Royal East Kent Yeomanry, (entitled 1914/15 Trio). He was commissioned on the 23rd November 1917 into the 3/1st Bucks Hussars posted to the 44th Cavalry, Indian Army 4th September 1918, he was then posted to the 23 Sikhs, Indian Army and then to the 25th Cavalry Frontier Force. With this Regiment he earned his India General Service Medal for the 1919 Afghanistan North West Frontier campaign, the 25th cavalry receiving the Battle Honour Afghanistan 1919.
