India General Service Medal, 1854-95 one clasp, Burma 1885-7, awarded to Corporal John White 1st Battalion Yorkshire Light Infantry, (2350 Corprl. J. White 1st Bn. York L.I.), very fine.

John White was born in Dublin in Ireland in c.1861, he enlisted into the 105th Light Infantry (King’s Own Yorkshire Light Infantry) in Dublin on the 6th of October 1880 stating that was serving at that time with the Royal Dublin Militia. He was promoted Lance Corporal on the 7th of July 1886 and Corporal on the 7th of October 1888. He served Home from the 7th of October 1880 until the 9th of December 1881, East Indies, 10th of October 1881 to the 19th of December 1887, Then Home from the 20th of December 1887 until his Discharge on the 10th of October 1892 after serving 12 years with the Colours. His papers confirm the award of the India Medal with the clasp Burma 1885-7.
