Description
Elizabeth I (1558-1603), Pattern shilling, mintmark large key on obverse, (1596-99), large 32mm flan, elaborate crowned bust left with tall narrow crown and long flowing hair, reads ELIZAB D G ANG FR ET HIB REGINA, all within inner beaded border. Rev, long cross fourchée over garnished flat topped quartered shield of arms, mintmark small key within inner beaded border, legend reads POSVI DEV ADIVTOREM MEV, 6.08gms. (N.2045; KY-3A/KYc1; Brown & Comber P4).
Handsome grey tone with reflective elements around the legends. Comprehensive portrait showing up all the main details. About extremely fine, set out on a marginally irregular flan, extremely rare.
