Description

Edward III (1327-77), Silver Groat, fourth coinage, Post-treaty period, London mint, crowned facing bust, with ‘chain mail’ breast, all within in tressure of nine arcs, trefoils on cusps, initial mark cross pattée, rev die axis at 9 o’clock, long cross pattée, trefoil of pellets in each inner angle, twin concentric legend surrounding, 4.24g (Lawrence 6 var; N.1284; S.1639).

Toned, a little weak in legend and short of flan, otherwise nearly very fine and rare.
