Coenwulf (796-821), Penny, large portrait phase, (c.805-10), cross and quatrefoil type, Canterbury, moneyer Tidbearht, diademed bust facing right, legend reads REX M + COENVVLF, uncial m. Rev,+TIDBERHT MONETA, uncial m, cross over quatrefoil, pellet in each angle, 1.20g (N.350; S.915).

Some surface porosity and a slightly undulating flan. Edge loss to the left of bust, otherwise a presentable portrait and
clear enough legends. Bold fine, rare.
