Description
Charles II (1660-85), Sixpence, 1678/7, laureate and draped bust right, legend surrounds CAROLVS II DEI GRATIA. Rev, crowned cruciform shields, pairs of royal monogram interlinked Cs in angles, garter star at centre, date flanking top crown, reads MAG BR FRA ET HIB REX (S.3382; Bull 573; ESC 1517).
Set out on a broad flan retaining much of the original mint bloom, bold portrait with minimal soft spots. Rev, reflective fields with the overdate precise and clear, some flecking both sides. About extremely fine, rare.
