Charles II (1660-85), Shilling, first hammered issue, crowned bust left, plain field, legend and outer toothed border surrounding both sides, initial mark crown, CAROLVS. II. D. G. MAG. BRIT. FR. ET. HIB. REX. Rev, long cross fourchée over quartered shield of arms, legend surrounds .CHRISTO. AVSPICE. REGNO., 5.84g (ESC 1009; N.2762; S.3308). Nicely toned, struck on a full flan, well detailed on the quartered shield with a comprehensive portrait for this weakly struck issue. Very fine, scarce.
