Charles I (1625-1649). Aberystwyth (Provincial issue), (1638/9-1642). Shilling, mint mark book. Crowned bust left, XII behind, large plume before, beaded inner circle, legend surrounds CAROLVS DG MA BR FR ET HI REX. Rev, garnished oval quartered shield of arms, inner beaded circle, legend reads CHRISTO AVSPICES REGNO, 6.07g (S.2883; N.2331).

Slightly weakly struck in the portrait, otherwise a bold fine to very fine for issue, toned, rare.
