Australia, Joseph Lane & Son (based at 3 Great Charles Street, Birmingham, England), Copper Halfpenny Trade / Advertising Token, undated (c.1855), thick flan, obverse: 3 Gt CHARLES St BIRMINGHAM in three curved lines at the centre, JOSEPH LANE & SON BULLION DEALERS & REFINERS around, all within beaded border, reverse: FOR ALLOYING GOLD in three lines at the centre, REFINED AUSTRALIAN COPPER around, all within beaded border, edge plain, diam. 29mm (Dr Arthur Andrews, Australasian Tokens and Coins 673).
Choice good extremely fine, obverse with small scrape and black mark but with much original mint red lustre on both sides, very rare.
