Description

Army Meritorious Service Medal, GVIR, awarded to Warrant Officer Class 2 Edwin Donald Thomson, Royal Artillery Coastal Defence and Royal Garrison Artillery, (90267 WO. Cl.2. E.D. Thomson. R.A.), lightly toned fine.

Edwin Donald Thomson , a native of Chelsea, and a Fitter by trade enlisted into the Royal artillery on the 11th of May 1892, he served Various Coastal Defence Companies in St Helena, Mauritius and India, being transferred on its inception to the Royal Garrison Artillery 1901. He was awarded the Army Long Service and Good Conduct Medal with gratuity in 1910. He was discharged from the Army after 20 years with the Colours in September 1912. He was awarded a George VI Meritorious Service Medal in 1947.
