Sold with condolence slip awarded to D/KX94680, Stoker 1st Class, Roy Stephenson who was Killed in Action aboard HMS Illustrious on the 10th January 1941.
On that date, HMS Illustrious was part of a convoy heading to Malta and sustained repeated attacks by German bombers, which resulted in considerable damage and many casualties.
