A WW2 North Africa 1st Army Casualty Group to Sapper William John who was Killed in Action on the 27th August 1943 comprising 1939-45 Star, Africa Star, 1st Army clasp, 1939-45 Defence Medal, 1939-45 War Medal, unnamed as issued, very fine.

In box of issue with condolence slip to 1860655 Spr William John RE.

1860655 Sapper William John was killed in action in North Africa on 27th August 1943 while serving with the 714th Field Company of the Royal Engineers. He was 41 at the time of his death and he is buried in the El Alia Cemetery in Algeria. He was the son of Louis and Margaret Isabella John and husband of Kathleen Millie Ward John, of Gillingham, Kent.
