James II (1685-88), Crown, 1688, Qvarto edge, second laureate and draped bust left, toothed border both sides, legend surrounds IACOBVS. II. DEI. GRATIA. Rev, crowned cruciform shields, date either side of top crown, legend reads MAG. BR. FRA. ET. HIB REX. Edge inscribed +.DECVS. ET. TVTAMEN. ANNO. REGNI. QVARTO.+, 29.89g (S.3407; Bull. 746; ESC.80).
Attractive iridescent toning, some minimal surface markings and wear to the high points, otherwise a good very fine or better, the reverse very attractive.
